2000/2001
End of 2001 The Councils
announced that Phase II would start at the end of March, would
cost £650,000 and would take six months. It would involve
re-paving the lower end of the High Street including the
crossroads area, and building ramps with a water feature to give
better access for the disabled and those with pushchairs.
This was all that was left of the scheme exhibited in 1999. The
other developments had all been abandoned.
